H.R.H TUNKU ABDUL JALIL

ONE OF THE PRINCE OF JOHOR

The Prince of Johor, Tunku Abdul Jalil has been instrumental in the development of the sport in Malaysia and the launch of the Liga Layar Malaysia (LLM) and Belia Belayar sailing programmes. Launched late in 2013 with the backing of the Malaysian Ministry for Youth and Sports and the Malaysian Yachting Association (MYA) the programmes have given thousands of young people the opportunity to learn about sailing and gain experience in match racing across the country.

The initiatives introduced by Tunku Jalil have been highly successful in introducing new people to the sport of sailing and I congratulate him on his vision and enthusiasm. In a growing sailing country like Malaysia, it is this dedication and passion that really makes a difference.

Congratulations to Tunku Jalil on this prestigious ISAF Award. The sailing world depends on initiatives like the Liga Layar and Belia Belayar to grow the sport and create future World Champions. It is very well deserved indeed.

The Liga Layar Malaysia is a national match racing series with events in eight locations around the country. Visiting Pulau Langkawi, Kedah; Lumut, Perak; Pulau Indah, Selangor; Putrajaya, Port Klang, Selangor; Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan; Pulau Duyong, Terengganu and Danga Bay, Johor Bahru, sailors compete with the top five at each leg receiving prize money. The experience and exposure gained throughout the series has been invaluable in promoting the sport to the Malaysian population.

Launched in partnership with the MYA, the Belia Belayar is a youth sailing programme which runs parallel with the Liga Layar Malaysia. Over 500 young sailors and students attend each event to learn about sailing and give it a try for themselves.

In its first year, the Belia Belayar has so far introduced over 4,600 students to the sport across six venues.

Tunku Jalil is also the Chairman of Malaysian sailing company Innovatige Sdn, organiser of the Monsoon Cup, the final event of the annual Alpari World Match Racing Tour. Tunku Jalil will be presented with the ISAF President Development Award in Johor Bahru, Malaysia

One thing about the Johor Royalties, they have always stay humble. And they always help the one who needs it. Tunku Abdul Jalil is very humble, kind person and he loves to tease people. He just loves putting smile on people's face.

And another inspiring thing is that, Tunku Jalil is definitely strong. He's a cancer survivor. It is never easy for a cancer survivor to stay strong and have a positive mind set when you're in that situation. But he managed to do it. Currently he's been seeing the ones who is diagnose with cancer and try to help them out as he knows how hard it was to be one.

What gave him the strenght is the support he gets from his family and others. This shows that even when you're at your lowest. Always to stay strong no matter what and keep on moving forward. You never know, you might be a suvivor. If the Prince of Johor can do it. I'm sure others can too.

It's because she deserve it and she did it on her own instead of using her Royalty. A Princess and yet she's an Independent Woman. So there's no reason for you people out there isn't it? If a Princess can work too, you guys shall be able to work too!

Y.M TENGKU CHANELA JAMIDAH IBRAHIM

THE FASHION ICON

One of Malaysia's Fashion Icon, YM Tengku Chanela Jamidah. Always seen rubbing shoulders with the world's top fashion designers like Victoria Beckham and Thakoon, Tengku Chanela Jamidah is no stranger to the front row seats of both local and international fashion shows.
Aside from being a style icon and front row regular, Tengku Chanela also works on her own homegrown fashion brand, THAVIA, which she co-founded with a kindred spirit, Angie Lai Tay
With her lithe figure and effortless looks, it's hard to believe that she is also a mother of two. It was evident that she embraces the 'je ne sais quoi' sensibility through her stylish model-off-duty looks, which are both polished and undone at the same time, to fit her hectic lifestyle.
Tengku Chanela stresses that "Style is not about trends. It’s about portraying your personal image and your attitude through the way that you dress."

She is also the Founder of We Are Ultra founder. Motivated to lead an environmentally-friendly lifestyle after the birth of her daughter, Tengku Chanela Jamidah Ibrahim partnered with good friend Anita Hawkins to set up The Ultra Ultra, a blog on sustainability.

While searching for the best products for her daughter, she noticed a gap of sustainable and attractive products locally despite the growing green movement worldwide. A chance meeting with two up and coming Malaysian fashion designers Jonathan Liang and Tengku Syahmi prompted her to expand the blog into a collective called We Are Ultra in 2009.

Made from eco-friendly materials such as pineapple fibers, wood pulp and salmon skin and recycled polyester, their repertoire is chic and wearable -
think draped jackets with artsy cut-outs or waisted shorts with sharp bottom cuts - while being kind to the environment, drawing glowing reviews such as “a breath of fresh air in a region where sustainability and contemporary design rarely mix.

While the price points of sustainable fashion are still high, she believes that it can go mainstream. “Making a concerted and conscious effort to start promoting the use and acceptance of these materials will create a trickle-down effect of lowering down production costs.”

More than a clothing line, a product, or a brand, We Are Ultra aims to collaborate with designers, companies and organisations to create meaningful products, experiences and workshops from a sustainable point of view.

She wants to show that living green can be incorporated into our daily lives, while at the same time bring something fresh and innovative to the scene.

One way to encourage everyone to consider the impact of our lifestyle on the planet is by building on emotional connection and active participation of the masses. So in addition to their blog, they maintain active accounts on Twitter, Flickr and Facebook. They communicate regularly with supporters and maintain full transparency about their sustainable practices.

This open community approach obviously works: they recently raised nearly $10,000 on crowd-sourcing platform Kickstarter to fund their trip to Tranoi during Paris Fashion Week.

Ultra’s meteoric success convinces her that it is possible to stay true to your passions. Anyone can succeed without succumbing to society or others’ interpretation of what something should be.

NADIA NASIMUDDIN

THE ONE WHO MADE HER FATHER'S DREAM COME TRUE

Nadia Nasimuddin, 28 year-old is the youngest child of the late Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin SM Amin, she has proven every bit as skilled as her older brothers despite her age. She helms Naza Hotel Management and NZ Diners with poise. Her latest venture sees her as the lady behind Portluxe, an online boutique that sells and buys pre-owned designer items. She believes that the key to success is providing consistent service. Together with husband Hamzah Alang Azman Shah, they have a son named Aidan.

As one of the directors of the Naza Group of Companies an empire established by her late father. Nadia hails from the Nasimuddin clan that runs the largest privately owned corporation with a firm footing in several industries – automotive, food and beverage, hotel management, and property development to name a few. (The corporation is currently headed by her two older brothers, Dato’ Wira Hj SM Faisal SM Nasimuddin and SM Nasarudin SM Nasimudin.) Thus, it comes as no surprise that she has blossomed with a maturity stemming from her background of privilege and ambition. Now, she’s started her own dynasty, having married Hamzah Alang Tan Sri Azman Shah – of the Holiday Villa Hotels & Resorts empire – and borne their first heir Aidan, now two-years-old.

Nadia credits her parents for keeping her grounded and for all that she has accomplished in life so far. Her parents are the reason she turn out to be who she has become today. The very person she have grown to be is because of the family values they have instilled within her. Virtues that keep her humble, to give and forgive. Her late father was the one who always reminded them that success doesn’t come easy. It takes hard work, commitment, and perseverance.

It’s a strong sentiment she shares with all her siblings. She grew up with his dream in mind. They saw his passion and how driven he was in achieving it. He dreamt big and it takes the five of them today to make his dream come true.

With a loving family and thriving business, Nadia is certainly living her life to the fullest. She's working her dream job! Though when she was a kid, her ultimate job was to be a dolphin trainer. She was obsessed with dolphins, a dream that she achieved during her honeymoon in Hawaii.

Nadia’s genuine warmth and confidence brings to mind an idea put forward by the 19th-Century Concision in style, precision in thought, decision in life. Given her inherent drive, and relentless passion for life, there’s little doubt she will realise, with her siblings, her father’s dream.

NABIL JEFFRI

MALAYSIA'S YOUNGEST EVER F1 TEST DRIVER

Nabil Jeffri began his career in karting winning the Asian and Malaysian Rotax Max Junior titles in 2009. He stepped up to Formula BMW Pacific in 2010, racing for Eurasia Motorsport. On 1 September 2010, Jeffri carried out an aerodynamic test for the Lotus Racing Formula One team, driving the Lotus T127 on the airfield at the Imperial War Museum Duxford, becoming the youngest ever test driver in Formula One history. He drove for the team as a member of the AirAsia ASEAN Driver Development Program run by Lotus principal Tony Fernandes. In 2013, Nabil Jeffri was selected to be in the PETRONAS Talent Development Program and competed in the ATS FORMEL 3 CUP under Team Eurointernational.

The Lotus Racing team and a young Malaysian have made it into Formula One’s history books. 16-year old Nabil Jeffri became the youngest ever F1 test driver when he stepped into the Lotus T127 at the Imperial War Museum runway in Duxford, England. Jeffri, an AirAsia ASEAN Driver Development programme member, conducted a day of aero testing and gave the team valuable pitstop practice.

Nabil Jeffri made Formula One history with Lotus Racing. At 16 year-old he has made motor sport history by becoming the youngest to drive a Formula One car in an official test. For young Malaysian like Nabil, it is the first step on the road to becoming a Formula One Driver.

It is amazing to see such achievement like Nabil. Not many Malaysians into Formula race. Because it's hard. And to be in the Formula race takes a long time. Being a Formula racing driver as a career is definitely a  cool job. Who doesn't love Formula race?

Being a Formula race driver sounds cool and all but it's not easy. But that never stops Nabil from getting where he wants to go. Start from go kart and now here he is driving a Formula. He basically sepnd most of his time by preparing for the next race. That's the thing about wanting to be successful. You have to sacrifice your teen years. Regardless if it's the business, entertaintment or motosport industry. You want to be the best, you got to sacrifice and work hard for your success.

Bet you girls are drooling over Nabil. But too bad, he's already in a relationship with Raysha Rizrose. The winner of Dewi Rmaja 2015. All the good ones are taken girls. Sorry. You think be a Formula racer would always change girls. But not Nabil. He's been loyal with his girlfriend.

Nabil Jeffri is also the Youth Icon for Malaysia. Showing a good example to other youngsters. He seems like a nice guy, family guy, loyal, hard work, humble and friendly. Sounds like a good role model indeed.

Nabil is on the road on becoming a Formula 1 driver. Time will come to where Malaysia finally have a second Formula 1 driver after Alex Yong. Which it was back while ago. And maybe Nabil will make another history for Malaysia.

YUNALIS MAT ZARA'A

THE INTERNATIONAL ARTIST

Everybody in Malaysia knows that it's hard for the Entertainment Industry in Malaysia to go further. Definitely hard to be an International artist. But that didn't stop Yuna. A singer from Malaysia. Started  from One in a Million. She's now in LA pursuing her career as an International Singer giving good names for Malaysia.

Yunalis Mat Zara's or known as Yuna is definitely someone to look up to for whoever is in the Entertainment Industry and wants to be an International Artist just like Yuna. I'm sure she went through whole bunch of challenges. But that didn't stop her from chasing her dream. And she did it! Proud to have someone who represent Malaysia as an International Artist!

Yuna was eventually discovered in the US by the Indie-Pop record label and management company. They flew out to Malaysia to convince her to sign with them and then proceeded to get her a deal with Fader Label, a record label based in New York, in February 2011.  She released her debut US EP, Decorate, in the United States in March the same year.

One of the first few people who expressed interest in her music was Farhan Fadzlishah aka Pa'an (Telephony Delivery), who later became her supporting guitarist. Along the way, Efry Arwis (Lightcraft) helped her with the bass while Adib Azfar handled the drums. Adil Ali (Seven Collar T-shirt) replaced Adib Azfar after the latter quit to concentrate on his drumming role in Oh Chentaku. Yuna performs with her band when she is not active in acoustic gigs.

On 24 January 2012, her single "Live Your Life" debuted on iTunes. The track was produced by Grammy Award-winning producer Pharrell Williams. MTV Iggy described the track as, "polished until it gleams but instead of burying Yuna, it lifts her up. The track has hints that a diva is waiting to shine." On 16 February 2012, the official music video for "Live Your Life" was released.

On 24 April 2012, Yuna's US debut self-titled album was released. Debuting at No.23 on the Pop chart and No.86 on the Top 100 Albums on iTunes, Yuna was also No.23 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Chart. Accolades from fans and critics alike, such as Billboard, NPR, Elle, NY Times, Vibe Claire and National Geographic, who raves that her sound is “as fresh, honest and deeply personal as anything by Bon Iver or tUnEyArDs," have been rolling in.

She performed "Live Your Life" on late-night TV shows Conan and Last Call with Carson Daly. She was featured on the CBS Evening News in a featured profile piece and toured with Graffiti6 with stops at Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza. She also contributed to the Savages soundtrack on the track, Here Comes the Sun.

Yuna started out as a solo MySpaceartist in 2006, singing in both English and Malay.
Yuna's meteoric rise in the Malaysian indie music scene is largely due to the strong following she gained via Myspace. Having played at many gigs since the release of her Demo, EP and then two local albums, she is now focusing on promoting and performing music on her debut US Album. Yuna also will be a part of Lollapalooza 2012 line up.

In 2008, she released her self-titled EP which become a massive hit in Malaysia most notably the single 'Deeper Conversation'.[

Yuna was the first runner-up of MTV Iggy's Best New Bands in the World. She performed at the historic MTV Studios in Times Square New York singing "Decorate", "Come As You Are", "Lullabies" which is produced by Chris Braide and her new single "Live Your Life", which is produced by Pharrell Williams of N.E.R.D

Yuna recently signed with Verve Music Group Multiple Grammy-winning producer David Foster, who heads the creative operations of Verve, tweeted: "I'm really excited about the next hot artist to join Verve Music. Stay tuned and keep an eye out for Yuna in 2013".

Charted in Heatseekers Album on Billboard "Live Your Life".
In 2012, Yuna was recognised with a National Youth Icon Award, awarded by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Najib Razak, for her exceptional achievements in arts.

In December 2014, Yuna released the song "Broke Her" as a single. It features a sample of Drake's to 100

In 31 January 2015, Yuna performed in the closing ceremony of 2015 AFC Asian Cup.

Y.M RAJA SHAZREEN PETRA

AEROSPACE INDUSTRY'S PRINCESS

Introducing you the Aerospace Industry's Princess, YM  Raja Shazreen Petra. The first woman in the World to own a Multi-Billion Manufacturing Aircrafts Company. She owns Jetline International (M)  Sdn. Bhd. and Jetlins is the First in Malaysia, First in South-East Asia and Third in Asia to actually start a manufacturing aircrafts company.

At the age of 21 years old, she's already the Executive Director of Jetline International. She's been monitoring by her dad. She has been traveling back to back to Malaysia and the States. She start up the company in the States and currently in the process of bringing the Manufacturing Aicrafts business in Malaysia.

She's definitely the defination of a Beauty with Brain. She's definitely a risk taker to actually open up the manufature company here in Malaysia. Unlike the States, Malaysia's not really familiar with the Aerospace Industry. But yes, she's going change everything. The Malaysian will definitely be thanking her someday. It's a big project and she's the first one in Malaysia to do that. Pioneer in Malaysia.

Recently, she got interviewed by Majalah Nona. Guess, they finally found out who she really is. The article was really good. She definitely inspire people. Mostly, the young entrepreneur and she's definitely empowering women. People really should take her as a role model. Seldom to find someone who's in the Royal Family but they tend to be very independent and work really hard. Especially women, it's definitely rare to see a women who wants to be independent. Unlike any others, she can definitely finance herself. She seems like she doesn't even need a man. But nevertheless, I'm sure she wants to be love by someone like any normal person.

Base on her article she seems to be a very simple, very polite and  humble kind of person. She came from a Royal and definitely a rich family. But she's very humble. I believe she never really uses her Royal name. She'll only uses Shazreen Petra. I guess she was really well brought by her parents. Such an honor to have a daughter who has so much in her life but she's really down to earth. Credits to her parents for the well brought up daughter.. Seeing her Instagram or Twitter, she looks really genuine and a kind person. She would reply to every comments. And to think she would be very arrogant cause she came from a wealthy and royal family. But apparently no, she's definitely one good example for the youngsters.

I am one of her followers on Instagram. And believe me guys go nuts over her. Who wouldn't? What's not to love about this girl right here. Independent woman, very kind, graceful as a Princess should be, beautiful with brain and always remember the one who gave her the support and who was the one who made her who  she is today. And so sexy how she loves sports cars! One who is so lady like but loves and know so much about cars and aircrafts.

Speaking of that, she seems like she's still single. Maybe because she's too busy to have someone in her life right now. Whoever gets to win her heart is very one lucky guy. But will the guy feel pressure? As she's only 21 but she's already successful. And maybe because she feels that she can finance herself and that is why maybe she's single. Maybe? Could be? Beauitful girl inside and outside with brain and still single. May the best man win.

She's not like any other teenagers. 21 year-old and yet she's never been to a club before. She's seldom goes out with her friends too.o. You would think she's wild. But shockingly not, definitely rare isn't it? But reallg base on her recent article, she's definitely a person who doesn't want her father to be disappoint with her and she would make it easy as possible for her father. So maybe that's the main reason on why she doens't go out much with her friends. Definitely well brought.
